The brief was to make an enclosed difficult to use front garden into a chic extension and quite area to an attractive cramped kitchen. We excavated the soil and pushed the higher level soil back, built brick walls, and new drainage system. We then installed black and white mosaic tiles, then painted the walls white. A sub contractor then built a hardwood French door into the bay window to create anew access point into the garden from the kitchen. The wall was designed to match the bricks of the house with red and yellow detail, the new bricks are copies of the original London stocks which helped to keep the cost down. Pointing of the wall is weather struck which took extra time but matches the house and gives a crisp finish. The three wheelie bins were recessed behind the wall in a trench to hide them from view.
